Sprays — such as millet, flax, or oat sprays — are highly recommended by hamster experts and rescue centres because they offer natural enrichment, encourage instinctive behaviours, and provide a nutritious, low-risk treat. In the wild, hamsters forage for seeds and grains directly from plants. Sprays recreate this experience, allowing them to pull, nibble, and strip seeds just as they would in nature.
